Due to a late injury we played 11 v 12 in the morning. Robert Forster valiantly took on two and came up just short. We lunched 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 down.
In the afternoon we played 5 matches. We were grateful to Piltdown member Geoffrey Longfield making his Martlets debut. At aged 80+ surely one of the oldest, if not the oldest debutant?
The Martlets lunched very well and ran out 5-0 winners in the afternoon series of matches to complete a historic (during Simon Baillie Hamilton’s tenure!) victory 7 1/2 to 3 1/2.
