Nomads visited Sussex on Wednesday playing the Sussex Martlets at Three Bridges CC. On a very true batting track Martlets ran up a quick 268-5 off 36.2 overs with a powerfully struck century(126) from Toby Pullan before declaring. He was supported by Ben Pullan (32) , Jano Moller(59) and quick cameos at the end from Phil McCormack(20*) and Rob Frean (16*). Nomads had 45 overs to chase the target The early loss of the openers and then the dashing James Alder to a rash shot put Nomads on the backfoot.Cameos from Keith Juriansz and Tom Marshall steadied the innings. With Paul Wakefield injured and unlikely to bat , the dismissal of Kandampully was key but he struck a robust and chanceless 72 not out leaving Nomads well short on 211-7 at the close all on a beautiful summer’s day.
