| “An optimistic Martlet team assembled for the annual match against Piltdown Golf Club on Sunday 17th September 2023, hoping to avenge a run of recent losses.
The threat of wet and windy weather coming in meant that an 18 hole match was agreed between the assembled 5 pairs. The Martlets got off to a strong start with the match manager and partner Chis Spink taking the point in the first match, but in the remaining matches the home players proved too strong with match ending in a 4-1 loss overall. The Martlets were unable to redeem themselves after the excellent lunch, although the sun came out allowing some friendly golf to be played during the afternoon.” |
