| Adrian White – Match Manager
The usual very sociable match on a fine day at Piltdown GC. This has become an increasingly popular fixture with the Manager having the luxury of reserves for our team of 12. Despite this a very late withdrawal meant we were unfortunately reduced to 11. Dan Jackson kindly agreed to play a single against the foursome pair of John Trainer and Bill Shelford and came out victorious. Although under the rules he could not win, The Purchasers graciously granted him a win. As the first results came in it looked like a comfortable win for The Martlets, but we managed to lose the final three matches, for a generously allowed halved match. The course was in excellent shape, with the heather providing the usual tough challenge. To conclude, Piltdown provided an excellent lunch. |
