This year’s AGM took place in the Long Room on Thursday 9 April.
Stuart Ritchie was confirmed as chairman for the coming year supported by Mark Trubshaw as secretary.
Josh Burrows and Craig Talbot join the committee as press officer and fixtures secretary respectively.
Charlie Hartridge retired from the committee with more than our grateful thanks. The term “legend” does not do justice to his contribution.
To general acclaim, Rob Walker was elected Vice President reflecting his past contribution to the committee and as chairman of the cricket sub-committee.
Barry Peay and Ron Pateman were elected Honorary Members reflecting their long umpiring duties to the Sussex Martlets, in the case of Barry also recognising that he continues to play cricket for England Over 70s and Sussex Seniors.
At the end of the formal business, a proposal to make available new Club blazers in our colours of Oxford dark blue, Cambridge light blue and Westminster pink was made with examples of the blazers made in the late 1940s and early 1990s being available for inspection by members of the Club present at the meeting.
The evening finished with Harveys being taken with bangers and mash all the while looking from the Long Room over the square at Hove.
