Match Report
The Grant Skinner Memorial Shield was played on a fine, sunny day at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club on Sunday 29th May.
The match manager came in with high hopes, with three new additions to this fixture and putting the strong pairing of Kevin Bartlett and Simon Baillie-Hamilton out in the anchor leg. Sadly, the usual strength of the CBGC members on a fast-running course, more akin to links golf, proved too strong for the SM’s as we lost the first five matches. However, kudos must go to the anchor leg who overturned the CBGC match manager in the final match.
Our long awaited first win to get hold of the Grant Skinner Memorial Shield will have to wait for another 12 months.
