| Thanks to everyone for another enjoyable match against Crowborough Beacon G.C..
The course played well and tested the Martlets as usual! Hospitality was very enjoyable and thanks to Crowborough for their generosity. Well done to all players and some tight matches but the home side seemed to have a bit more energy over the last uphill drag to the clubhouse! This was James Goddard’s last year as match manager and after 10 years he has not been able to get his hands on the Grant Skinner Memorial Shield which Charles Tankard accepted on behalf of Crowborough after an amusing few minutes of humour from Robert Read. On top of all this we heard that there was a new Grandfather in the Martlets team and that 4 of our match decided to play in the later afternoon! – unfortunately they had not returned when the stragglers I left around 19.00hrs We hope that everyone enjoyed the match and once we know next year’s date we will let everyone know. We are now looking for a Martlet to take over the managing of this match for 2025. Robert Reed: Match Manager |
