Sussex Martlets win at Horsham
After winning the toss (thank goodness),we batted first and put on 253-7; notable performances Simon Warrender with a majestic 110 and Ben Jackson with a measured and gritty 63 not out. During our batting innings we managed to scrape our way to 10 players, with special thanks to Cameron Scott who was picked up whilst wandering around the boundary! With one player short, but lots of runs on the board, the game looked to be headed towards a draw with Horsham 200-1 with 5 overs remaining. However some accurate bowling from Kemar Small (4-64), and a hat-trick out of nowhere from the fiery red head Hector Maclean (4-47) set the game alight. This nail-biting turn of events left Horsham on the edge of defeat at 8 down, however they managed to see out the last over and the match finished as a draw with Horsham 222-8. Thanks to everyone who played!
