Match Manager: Rob Walker
Umpire: Colin Shaw
Scorer:
Played on a glorious sunny day The Martlets batted first achieving a score of 178 for 6 off 45 overs in just under 3 hours. An opening partnership of 69 (Wills 38 and Ferns 46) laid a solid foundation.
In reply Worth Scored 158 all out off 41 overs. A win by 20 runs. Peter Collins (candidate) took a wicket with the first ball of the Worth innings. At 20 for 4 the school looked in big trouble. However, the boys dug in and a draw looked inevitable until a couple of timely wickets fell and Peter Collins came back to take the last wicket with the very last ball of the match. A very exciting finish with wickets being evenly spread amongst the bowlers. Peter Collins finished with 4 for 44 in his first game for the Martlets, a great effort.
